Cultural Trips and places of interest

There are numerous places of interest, cable cars, day-trip destinations and activities on offer around the resort.
A visit to the former Olympic city of Innsbruck (30 mins) or to Swarovski Crystal Worlds (45 mins) is most definitely worth the trip. In addition, the Alpine Coaster, the longest roller coaster in the Alps, offers an adventure for the whole family.

INNSBRUCK

Innsbruck – the capital of the Alps. Experience a unique Alpine/urban mix of mountains and valleys, countryside and city, with a range of cultural, culinary and shopping experiences.

ALPENZOO

Covering an area of over 10 acres, the zoo houses around 2,000 Alpine animals of around 150 different species in enclosures, terrariums and aquariums that have been designed to imitate natural habitats. No other zoo in the world has such a complete collection of wild animals from the Alps.

SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL WORLDS

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds museum in Wattens has been enchanting millions of visitors since 1995. It is one of Austria’s most popular visitor attractions. You too can see the Giant, renovated in 2015, with its unique Chambers of Wonder and spacious gardens.

AREA 47

Water fun, thrills and spills, climbing fun From rafting to KTM MX Freeride biking and the world’s highest high ropes course, Area 47 inspires thrill seekers of all ages.

THE PITZTAL GLACIER

Tyrol’s highest glacier. Austria’s highest café. In Pitztal you can enjoy cakes from the café’s own bakery and unwind on the suspended terrace 3,440 m above sea level.

IMST ALPINE COASTER

Start point: 1,500 m above sea level. Length: 3,535 m. Bumps, steep turns, fast bends and jumps with drops of up to six metres – this is the adventure awaiting anyone who speeds down into the valley on the Imst Alpine Coaster.

NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE

Bavaria’s idyllically situated fairy tale castle invites visitors to see King Ludwig II’s state rooms. Interior furnishings and architecture combine to make the castle a major work of historical importance.

ZUGSPITZE RAILWAY

Travel on the Zugspitze Railway to the top of the highest mountain in Germany. Climb 1,700 m in just 10 minutes and then enjoy a view of four countries, including the 2,000 m and 3,000 m peaks (and the only 4,000 m peak) of the Eastern Alps.
